Ventura Mayor Neal Andrews will be the featured speaker at the next Midtown Ventura Community Council, (MVCC), general meeting this Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. Neal was elected Mayor on Monday, December 4, 2017, the night the Thomas Fire started. With a background in emergency preparedness, among other things, Neal was ready to go to work. Also on their agenda will be a presentation by the Ventura Police Community Foundation (VCPF). The VPCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to support programs that will improve the quality of life and safety in our community, including the Police Activities League (PAL) afterschool programs, police volunteers and community safety programs, and obtaining equipment and technology to support the police department.
There will be an update regarding their next Food Truck Friday, (FTF), on April 20, when MVCC, along with Pacific View Mall, will be honoring the other first responders, all the other city staff members who worked behind the scenes, in the Office Emergency Center, and continuing on through the recovery.
