CMH PanoMidtown Ventura will soon be christening two new hospitals. Get an update on construction at Community Memorial Hospital and Ventura County Medical Center at the Midtown Ventura Community Council meeting on Thursday, March 9.

Ventura Water will discuss an improved metering system for Midtown, Ventura Police is expected to update crime problems and the MVCC will hold its annual election for Board of Directors. The meeting begins at 7 pm in Cooper Hall at Grace Church, 65 MacMillan Ave.

Executives from both hospitals will talk about the process of opening a new facility, plans for the existing hospitals and how the community can support CMH and VCMC.

Presenting from VCMC is Joan Araujo, chief deputy director. Adam Thunell, senior vice president/COO, who is overseeing the Community Memorial Hospital construction, and Troy Tucker, director at The Stahl Companies, will provide the update.

Ventura Water is expected to start replacing manually-read water meters with new “smart” water meters in Midtown Ventura. Craig Jones and Joe Zdybowicz from Ventura Water will talk about the work to replace more than 31,000 meters and the benefits for residents. The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) will automatically relay readings utilizing radio antennas.
