In March, the city's Design Review Committee forwarded a recommendation to the Planning Commission for the denial of modifications to the building previously occupied by Goodwill Industries at 3351 Telegraph Road across from the Pacific View Mall.

It was anticipated that the Planning Commission would review the proposed modifications. However, the applicant, American Tire Center, withdrew their application. The proposal, which included facade improvements, was found by the DRC to be incompatible with the neighborhood and faced opposition from nearby residents due to traffic and noise concerns.

For now the building remains vacant and the future of the site is unclear.
